Objectives of the OOA
- Health Promotion / Life Skills / Exercise / Clean Drinking Water
- Promotion of Solar Technology / Agriculture and Increasing Their Awareness / Solar Education Center and Ecological Agriculture
- Poverty Reduction / Creation of (at least 20) Jobs and Contribution to Prosperity
- Reduction of Violence / Employment / Sense of Duty and Responsibility
- Talent Promotion in Arts & Culture and Sports (Football, Track & Field, Basketball, CrossFit, Teqball, Darts, and Table Tennis) / Coached Training
- Strengthening Social Cohesion / Social Events
Phase 1) – Property:
The OAA is intended to become a place of encounter, movement, and education. To implement this, a suitable property is needed first. At the end of January 2024, OneAgape representatives traveled to Kaduna (Nigeria) for this purpose and identified the property for the OneAgape Area – the purchase was subsequently finalized.
Phase 2) – Football Field:
After acquiring a suitable plot, the conversion to a sand football field and the fencing of the entire area are priorities at the beginning. Our goal is to create a place that is accessible to all age groups and focuses on promoting sports, education, and culture. In the future, the OAA should therefore not only be about sports and education but also about promoting the (diverse) Nigerian culture.
Phase 3) – Drinking Water:
Due to the very good soil conditions in the OAA, clean water can be pumped up through a deep borehole. This water will be stored in a large tank with a capacity of 5,000 liters. This way, a permanent water supply can be guaranteed. Additionally, we will provide fresh and clean drinking water free of charge to the surrounding communities. Besides the essential drinking water, the needy residents from the region will also have the opportunity to get to know the variety of activities offered by OAA in sports and education more closely and to establish social contacts.
Phase 4) – Buildings
At a later stage, the construction of changing rooms using container construction and a sports bar will follow. If the question of why a sports bar is being built is pursued, it creates, as in Liechtenstein football clubs, a platform for interested parties to promote social exchange and strengthen the sense of belonging under the thematic roof of “encounter, movement, and education”, where people can discuss diverse ideas with joy and motivation and distract themselves from difficult living conditions with laughter.
Phase 5) – Solar Technology / Agriculture:
In a next step, we plan to establish a training center for solar technology. Here, young adults from the area should learn how to install and maintain solar systems. This not only creates jobs but also establishes a sustainable energy source for various facilities (orphanages, schools, private households) – and of course for the OAA. Through the distribution, installation, and maintenance of solar systems for private individuals, we aim to create a source of income that will contribute to the long-term maintenance of the OAA.
In addition, we will offer people relevant training in sustainable and ecological agriculture. For this purpose, a corresponding area of the OAA will be converted into training farmland, so that the idea of the sustainability concept is embedded in the entire project and the importance of sustainability is anchored in the minds of the people living on site.
Phase 6) – Multi-sport and Culture
Afterwards, the expansion to a multi-sport and cultural center should take place step by step. We want to gradually expand the center and organize cultural events such as dance events, music concerts, street food festivals, etc. in the future. This will strengthen the cultural diversity of the area while creating a place where people from different age groups and backgrounds can come together and interact to create further socially sustainable synergies. It is the declared goal of the OAA project that, in addition to the central sports discipline ‘football’, other sports such as track & field, basketball, table tennis, teqball, darts, CrossFit will be gradually included in the development program.
Reasons for Additional Sports:
- High Esteem in Nigerian Society
- Existence of Countless Talents in Nigeria That Need Support
- Lack of Initiative and Infrastructure from the Government
