For the opening of the Fashion Design School including an associated FashionStore (direct sales), suitable premises (financing of the 1st year’s rent), 8 sewing machines, various fabrics, 1 laptop, work benches and chairs, power generator, display mannequins, fans, and various smaller purchases were needed.
OneAgape does not support these projects through micro-finance. In return, OneAgape does not expect a monetary contribution (repayment of the microcredit) from the supported person, but rather the continued education of disadvantaged people.
Lucy currently trains 3 young people together with another instructor. They all come from villages outside the city, where very poor conditions are found. 3 trainees have already completed their 6-month training and have returned to their respective villages. There, they now run their own tailoring businesses, providing the villagers with great clothing items and generating their first income! With this income, they will be able to support their families in the future (paying for school costs, buying food, etc.). More trainees will join at the appropriate time and follow the same path. This creates a cycle – a very efficient cycle!
OneAgape does not plan any further investments in the Fashion Design School, as it is pleasingly already standing on its own feet.
